Your weekly Recap
Your Recap is an email we send you each Monday morning. It tells you how the Monitors of your Projects did in the week just ended, so you know without opening the dashboard.
What it shows
Section titled “What it shows”At the top, one line sums up the week. It names the Monitors that are down now. When none is, it says how many Monitors went down and for how long in total. When none went down, it says so.
Under that line, the Monitors are grouped by Project. For each Monitor, the Recap shows:
- Its uptime percentage for the week, with the hours we could not measure beside it.
- How many Incidents it had, and how long it was down in total.
- Its median Answer time for the week. A Heartbeat Monitor has none.
- A certificate or domain that expires within 30 days.
- Down now, when the Monitor is still down on Monday morning.
The figures are the same as the ones the Project page shows for the same days. A Monitor that we watched for only part of the week says for how long. A Monitor that was paused for the whole week is not in the Recap.
The Monitors that went down or have an expiry come first. The Recap shows at most 25 Monitors. Each Project ends with a link to all of its Monitors in the dashboard.
The Recap tells you only how your Monitors did. It says nothing about your Plan or your credits.
Who gets it
Section titled “Who gets it”Every Member of an Organization gets a Recap, whatever their Role. It goes to your account email. It covers the Projects you reach, and the owner reaches every Project. See Members and Roles.
When you are a Member of several Organizations, each one sends you its own Recap.
The Recap goes to Members only. An address on an email Channel does not get it.
A week in which we watched none of your Monitors for at least 1 day sends no Recap.
When you join an Organization, your first Recap comes on the next Monday. It covers that whole week, including the days before you joined.
When it arrives
Section titled “When it arrives”The Recap arrives each Monday at 09:00 in the Project’s timezone. It covers Monday to Sunday of the week before, each Project’s week in its own timezone.
When your Projects are in different timezones, you still get one email. It arrives at 09:00 on Monday in the timezone furthest west.
The Project’s timezone is the Timezone in Project settings, on the General tab.
Stopping your Recap
Section titled “Stopping your Recap”You stop your Recap for yourself, one Organization at a time. The Recaps from your other Organizations keep coming. Nobody else can stop your Recap, and you cannot stop the Recap of someone else.
To stop it from the email:
- At the foot of the Recap, press the link Stop Recaps from and the name of the Organization, such as Stop Recaps from Acme.
- The page asks first. Press Stop Recaps.
- The page then says: “Acme will no longer send you a Recap. Your alert emails are not affected.”
Mail apps also show their own unsubscribe button. It stops that Organization’s Recap at once. Marking a Recap as spam does the same.
To stop it from Account settings:
- Open Account settings from the menu with your name, at the foot of the sidebar.
- Under Recap, find the Organization. Each Organization you are a Member of has its own switch.
- Turn its switch off.
Your Recap stays stopped when you leave the Organization and come back later.
Getting it back
Section titled “Getting it back”You can turn your Recap on again at any time:
- On the page the link opened, press Undo.
- On Account settings, under Recap, turn the Organization’s switch on.
Either way also brings back a Recap you stopped by marking it as spam, or with the unsubscribe button of your mail app.
Your alert emails are not affected
Section titled “Your alert emails are not affected”Stopping your Recap never stops your alert emails. Stopping alert emails never stops your Recap. Each one has its own link. See Email for how to stop alert emails.
