Changing your Plan
Only the owner changes the Plan. Open Plan and billing from the sidebar: every Plan is listed under the counts, with Upgrade on the larger ones and Downgrade on the smaller ones. You can change your Plan at any time, up or down.
Upgrading
Section titled “Upgrading”From Free, press Upgrade on the Plan you want. You pay by card on a checkout page run by Creem, our payment provider, and come back to the dashboard. The new Plan is yours as soon as the payment goes through. When that takes longer than usual, the screen says your plan will update in a few minutes.
From a paid Plan, press Upgrade on a larger one. The dashboard asks first, with the new price: you are charged the difference for the rest of this billing period, now. Press Change plan, and the new Plan is yours at once. The extra monthly credits of the larger Plan are added at once too.
An upgrade brings back what a smaller Plan suspended, oldest first, as far as the new counts allow: Projects first, then Monitors and heartbeats. Each one starts to be checked again at once.
Downgrading and choosing what stays
Section titled “Downgrading and choosing what stays”Press Downgrade on a smaller Plan. Before anything changes, the dashboard asks what stays on it, one step at a time:
- which Projects stay
- which Monitors stay, from the Projects you keep
- which heartbeats stay
- which locations each Monitor keeps, when it is checked from more locations than the smaller Plan allows
Only the steps you need are shown: a step appears only when you have more than the smaller Plan holds. Each step says how many to choose, such as “Choose 1 of 3”, and starts with a choice already made: the oldest Projects, then the oldest Monitors and heartbeats. Change the choice as you like, then press Continue.
The last step says what will be suspended. Confirm it, and a move to a smaller paid Plan happens at once. The unused part of what you paid for the larger Plan is refunded, and monthly credits above the smaller Plan’s are taken away.
Moving down never removes a Member. When you have more Members than the smaller Plan holds, nobody new can be invited until you are back within it.
Cancelling
Section titled “Cancelling”To stop paying, press Downgrade on Free, choose what stays, and press Cancel plan. Your paid Plan stays until the end of the period you paid for, and then the Organization moves to Free.
Until then, a banner on every screen says which day your Plan ends, with two buttons:
- Keep my plan undoes the cancel. The banner goes away.
- Choose opens the same steps again, to change what stays. Once you have chosen, the button says Change.
While your Plan is ending, the Plan screen’s buttons are off. To move to another paid Plan, keep your plan first.
You can also cancel through Manage subscription. The same banner appears then, and Choose asks what stays. When you choose nothing, the oldest Project stays, and in it the oldest Monitors and heartbeats, as far as Free holds them.
On Free, your unused monthly credits are gone. Credits you bought stay, and still pay for texts and WhatsApp messages until they are spent.
Suspended Projects and Monitors
Section titled “Suspended Projects and Monitors”A Project or Monitor that does not stay on the smaller Plan is Suspended. Nothing is deleted:
- A Suspended Monitor is not checked and sends no alerts. It does not count toward your Plan.
- It keeps its whole history, and its page shows it.
- An Incident open when it was suspended is closed, with no message sent.
- On your Status page, a Suspended Monitor keeps its place and reads Not monitored.
- A Suspended Project’s Monitors are all suspended with it. Its screens show them and their history, but nothing in it can be added, changed, paused or deleted. Its Status page says only that it is not published at the moment.
Every Suspended Project and Monitor says so on its own screen, and the owner sees See plans, which opens the Plan screen.
To bring one Monitor back without changing your Plan, open its page and press Bring back. When your Plan has room, it comes back at once. When it has none, choose a Monitor to suspend in its place. Either way, it costs nothing.
A larger Plan brings Suspended ones back, as in Upgrading.
When a payment fails
Section titled “When a payment fails”When the monthly payment for your Plan fails, nothing stops. Your Organization keeps its Plan for 14 days, and the owner gets an email.
During that time a banner on every screen says the payment failed, and the day to update your card by. Press Fix payment to change your card. When a payment goes through, the banner goes away and nothing else changes. Until then, the Plan cannot be changed, and credits cannot be bought.
If no payment goes through in that time, the Organization moves to Free. The oldest Project stays, and in it the oldest Monitors and heartbeats, as far as Free holds them. Everything else is suspended. The owner gets an email that lists what was suspended. Buying a Plan again brings it back.
The price lock
Section titled “The price lock”While you stay on the same Plan, its price never rises and its counts never shrink.
When we improve a Plan, everyone on it moves to the improved one. When we change a Plan in any other way, we offer it as a new Plan, and you stay on the one you have for as long as you keep it. A Plan we no longer offer stays yours too. It is not shown on the Plan screen, so leaving it is for good.
Payments and invoices
Section titled “Payments and invoices”Payments run through Creem. The owner’s Billing card on the Plan screen shows the price, the next payment’s day, when billing began and the last payment.
Press Manage subscription to open Creem’s customer portal. There you change your card, find every receipt, and cancel.
Receipts go to the owner’s email address. To have them sent to another address, write to us at support@uup.dev.
What a change of Plan does to your credits is on Credits.
