Your Status page
Every Project has one Status page: a public page that tells your Visitors whether your Monitors are up. It is there from the start, with nothing to publish. What Visitors see goes through everything on it.
To change it, open Status page in the sidebar. Open the page opens it as your Visitors see it. Only owners and admins can change the Status page.
The Monitors on the page, the accent color, “Powered by uup” and the search engines switch wait in a bar at the foot of the screen until you press Save. Visitors see them once you save. The address, the logo and the Custom domain are saved as soon as you change them.
The address
Section titled “The address”Every page has an address on our domain. For a page whose Slug is acme, it is https://acme.uupstatus.com/. You find it under Address, with a button to copy it.
The first Slug comes from the Project’s name. Renaming the Project never changes it.
To change it, press Change under Address, type the new Slug and press Save address. A Slug:
- is 3 to 63 characters long
- has lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, starts and ends with a letter or a digit, and has no two hyphens in a row
- never starts with
uup - is none of the names we keep for ourselves:
cname,www,api,app,mail,status,admin,internal,static,assets,cdn,ns1,ns2,help,support,docs,blog,security,abuseandbilling - is not taken by another page
The old address keeps redirecting to your page for 30 days. After that, anyone can take it.
To serve the page at a name of your own, such as status.acme.com, connect a Custom domain. The address on our domain then forwards to it.
The look
Section titled “The look”Under Look:
- Logo: drop a file on the box, or choose one. It is PNG, JPEG or WebP, at most 256 KB. Without one, the page is headed by the Project’s name.
- Accent color: a band across the top of the page. Choose one of the colors, or type your own. A color is # and six hex digits, such as #1e90ff. Without one, the band is grey. Up and down keep their own colors.
- Show “Powered by uup”: a line at the foot of the page, linking to uup. Every paid plan can turn it off. On the Free plan it stays on.
The timezone
Section titled “The timezone”Every time on the page, and every day of its bars, is in the Project’s timezone. The footer names it. To change it, open Project settings, then General, and choose a Timezone.
The Monitors it shows
Section titled “The Monitors it shows”Under Monitors on this page, switch each Monitor on or off. Visitors see the ones switched on, in the order listed. Drag a Monitor, or use its arrows, to move it.
A new heartbeat starts off the page, and every other new Monitor starts on it. When you create a Monitor, its Show on the Status page switch changes that.
Taking a Monitor off the page stops its Status badges too.
A suspended Monitor keeps its place on the page and reads Not monitored. One that is not on the page cannot be put there while it is suspended.
Search engines
Section titled “Search engines”The page can turn up in search results. Switch on Hide this page from search engines to ask search engines not to list it. Anyone with the link can still open it.
Status badges
Section titled “Status badges”To show one Monitor’s status in a README or on your website, copy one of its Status badges.
